Following collaborations with brands like Levi’s in 2009 and Converse in 2010, British artist Damien Hirst brings one of the most famous imaginations on the contemporary art scene to Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s fashion house The Row, as part of a humanitarian project organized by online art sale site Just One Eye. Hirst has customized one of the Olsen sisters’ best-selling pieces an alligator skin backpack in a limited edition of 12 pieces decorated with spots and pills in pop colors, that hark back to some of his other work inspired by real-life objects like tables, ashtrays, cigarette butts and medication.  The Damien Hirst for The Row backpacks are available on Just One Eye, a portion of the profits from this project will go to Unicef.

Brit model Agyness Deyn has teamed up with famed London label Dr. Martens for a ’90s inspired fashion and accessories collection. Deyn, who had her first pair of Dr. Martens boots at the age of 13, has been the face of the brand for the past two years. Her debut 29-piece collection will now have her at the helm of many design collaborations to come with a spring/summer 2013 line already wrapped up. The collaboration pulls heavily from Deyn’s own signature grungy aesthetic, while also finding inspiration from style icons of the ‘90s. “I love the style of some of the Nineties’ most famous couples, like Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder and Brad Pitt and Juliette Lewis,” she told Vogue UK. “I love that grungy look, that freeness and real vintage vibe. I wanted the collection to look like someone had gone into a charity shop, like I did when I was a teenager, and come out dressed head-to-toe in what they’d bought. It’s a wear-it-all-together collection.”

The collection will be available online and in stores at Dr. Marten’s starting August 15th. Above are a few of my favourite things from the collection.
