In a highly-anticipated fashion industry first, Harper’s BAZAAR has welcomed the famed Carine Roitfeld as global fashion director across all of it’s 26 international editions. The editor who is best known for her ten year stint at French Vogue (2001-2011) and being a street style photographer’s favourite debuts her first fashion feature in Harper’s BAZAAR 15th anniversary March issue globally. A 16-page spread entitled ‘Carine on the Collections’ sees Roitfeld offer her creative take on the spring/summer 2013 collections using looks by Chanel, Dior, Dolce & Gabbana alongside emerging names such as Christopher Kane and J.W. Anderson.
The beautiful bohemian Margherita Missoni married her Italian race car driver beau Eugenio Amos this weekend in Brunello, Italy. The 29 year old Missoni brand ambassador wore two versions of her custom designed, long-sleeved, Giambattista Vali couture gown made with Missoni silk – one in white for the formal church ceremony which she paired with a veil and tiara. The other appeared later on at the reception in a delicate blush tone accented with a floral headpiece. After the church wedding the Missoni family welcomed guests from the fashion world including Anna Dello Russo, Mario Testino, Carine Roitfeld, Dasha Zhukova, Bianca Brandolini D’Adda, Eugenie Niarchos and Franca Sozzani to an outdoor reception in the countryside. The farm where the wedding took place was transformed into a gypsy-inspired playground. There was a gypsy band, acrobats and a fortune-teller, as well as illuminated bales of hay, painted caravans and long tables full of food. What a magical and fashionable affair.
Carine Roitfeld is due to launch a new bi annual glossy titled CR Fashion Book that has allegedly fired up Conde Nast management. Conde Nast, the publishing behemoth that produces Vogue, WWD and W, Glamour, Vanity Fair, Allure and many other glossy magazines, has forbidden all of its photographers and editors to contribute to Carine’s brand new magazine, due out in September. Roitfeld the former stylist and muse to Tom Ford, was the longtime (10-year) much-lauded editor-in-chief of FrenchVogue, which is of course published by Conde Nast.
