J Brand launched its apparel line a year ago with a small capsule collection. This season, presenting for the first time at New York Fashion Week the brand presented a contemporary wardrobe for a modern woman with an effortless understated luxe feel. The outerwear really stood out – a deep navy shearling biker jacket with a ‘double fronted’ detail in the softest shearling and a blush pink over-sized leather biker jacket in a boyish silhouette that rocked my world. http://www.jbrandjeans.com/

Rubin Singer is the previously relatively unknown designer behind Beyoncé’s fierce costume she wore to perform at the Super Bowl halftime entertainment which is viewed by an estimated 100 million people across the United States. Singer who was also responsible for creating the costumes for the Destiny’s Child stars and the 120 backing dancers involved in the production honed his design skills at Oscar de la Renta and Bill Blass before launching his own label in 2007. Beyoncé’s lace, iguana and python skin bodysuit took 14 people to help create and five fittings to polish to perfection. The Super Bowl 15 minutes of fame was one bootylicious career boost for Rubin Singer.

i-D magazine is celebrating 25 years of Kate Moss’ amazing career with a new shoot by Daniele Duella and Iango Henzi for the pre-spring 13 edition. As usual i-D has released a set of covers, in one Moss wears a plump pale pink Dior bow tied around her neck in another she has Balenciaga rings on every finger. Inside the magazine there are more sublime shots, Kate Moss is killing it.

In a playful reference to how we communicate in today’s connected yet disconnected world, Lanvin Creative Director Alber Elbaz gives feedback on the brand’s new campaign via a Skype video call for their spring/summer video. The inspiration for the editorial came from Elbaz’s inability to actually be in New York City for the various shoots because of Hurricane Sandy. Lanvin continues to be a luxury fashion house with a mischievous sense of humour.

Stella McCartney’s Spring Summer 2013 collection was a vision of freshness and light, all sporty modern fabrics, oversized shirts and clean lines. The colour palette consisted of bright whites, sharp citrus shades and vibrant apple green. For her Spring/Summer 2013 campaign Stella McCartney has brought back her favourite regulars, model Natalia Vodianova and photography team Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.
