Love this fabulous short film that summarises the history of Gabrielle Chanel’s use of the diamonds in a modern way – simplifying jewellery settings and rendering the previous styles out of date “I want jewels that slip between the fingers like a ribbon”. For Chanel beauty was not an obligation or a convention but a way of being, an allure.

The couturier, Valentino Garavani, hosted a spectacular fête champêtre in the grounds of his 17th century Louis VIII chateau, Wildville, last week to celebrate the launch of his archives. Hollywood stars, socialites and models were on hand to show off their style, catch a glimpse of the designer’s sketches, and soak up the breathtaking grounds of the chateau in the moonlight.

 

Ever dreamt of being a princess? Christian Louboutin has just unveiled his modern-day version of Cinderella’s fabled glass slippers during Haute Couture week in Paris. The delicate lace heels with Louboutin’s signature red sole are embellished with Swarovski crystals and sparkly butterflies. In honour of the HD release of the enchanting Cinderella film, Disney invited Louboutin to re-imagine Cinderella’s famous slipper and as part of the celebration, twenty lucky fans will have the chance to be a part of the magic and win one of the twenty original slippers. Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo!
