The spotlight’s on Louis Vuitton’s iconic shoes and it’s time to dance. The French fashion house pays tribute to the iconic shoes that have marked its history in an expertly choreographed clip. From the Pact mocassins from the Fall/Winter 2013-2014 pre-collection and the pastel colored heels of Spring/Summer 2012, to Spring/Summer 2009’s tribal sandals and the giraffe print stilettos from Spring/Summer 2011, both womenswear and menswear styles can be seen showing off some rather fancy footwork with super speedy cabaret and jazz-inspired steps.
Karl Lagerfeld photographs Cara Delevingne modelling his footwear collaboration with Brazillian brand Melissa in Plastic Dreams magazine. Plastic Dreams is the in-house magazine of Melissa, the jelly shoe brand with which Lagerfeld has a four-year collaboration deal. The cover features Karl and Cara looking fierce together, inside the 16 page feature we see Cara model pieces from the designer’s first capsule collection.
Following a first collaboration for Spring/Summer 2012, Kanye West has teamed up once again with the Italian shoe designer Guiseppi Zanotti to create a highly graphic heel. Christian Louboutin has just unveiled his Spring/Summer 2013 collection which is as extravagant and imaginative as ever. To coincide with the launch, the shoemaker has just released the first images of the accompanying Peter Lippmann lensed campaign, inspired by Belgian artist René Magritte’s approach to Surrealism. Against the backdrop of a fishing port, the shoes and clutches from the new collection dominate the images, used as fishing bait in a cheeky take on the age-old adage “there are plenty more fish in the sea”.
Ever dreamt of being a princess? Christian Louboutin has just unveiled his modern-day version of Cinderella’s fabled glass slippers during Haute Couture week in Paris. The delicate lace heels with Louboutin’s signature red sole are embellished with Swarovski crystals and sparkly butterflies.
