Planet Chanel : This video shows the Chanel autumn/winter 2013 Ready-to Wear collection at Paris Fashion Week.
It’s a Chanel world after all: with a huge globe sitting in the centre of the Grand Palais this morning spinning around with CC flags all over it was clear that we are on planet Chanel. There were high collars on tweed aviatior coats, fluffy pink and teal hats to match, biker boots dripping with chains. There was glossy patent boots riding high up the leg to meet a mini or pleated skirt with more beautiful coats in pink and black and either belted or cocoon-soft. Little Chanel bags were boxy and bright in pink and yellow and blue or were small globe shapes to continue the worldly theme. It was a sparkly collection, so why not add a shiny, glittery eye?

Karl Lagerfeld has shot the new Spring Summer 2013 lookbook for Chanel, featuring the Dutch model Stef van der Laan in vinyl wide brimmed hats, pearl jewellery, tweed suits and the new hoop bag. The colour palette of black, white and dreamy pastels set the tone for the new season which plays with proportions and shapes. The feel of the lookbook is reminiscent of the space in which the Spring Summer 2013 collection was shown at the Grand Palais on October 2nd – white walls, clean lines – a classic minimalism, so beloved by Lagerfeld.
Carine Roitfeld is due to launch a new bi annual glossy titled CR Fashion Book that has allegedly fired up Conde Nast management. Conde Nast, the publishing behemoth that produces Vogue, WWD and W, Glamour, Vanity Fair, Allure and many other glossy magazines, has forbidden all of its photographers and editors to contribute to Carine’s brand new magazine, due out in September. Roitfeld the former stylist and muse to Tom Ford, was the longtime (10-year) much-lauded editor-in-chief of FrenchVogue, which is of course published by Conde Nast. The last photo above is the image on http://www.crfashionbook.com, currently still under construction. Watch that space!
