In a playful reference to how we communicate in today’s connected yet disconnected world, Lanvin Creative Director Alber Elbaz gives feedback on the brand’s new campaign via a Skype video call for their spring/summer video. The inspiration for the editorial came from Elbaz’s inability to actually be in New York City for the various shoots because of Hurricane Sandy. Lanvin continues to be a luxury fashion house with a mischievous sense of humour.

The Lanvin Fall/Winter 2012 campaign celebrates Individuals with individuality. Since none of Lanvin’s new faces are famous models or actors, the campaign video lets us get to know them. We hear their voices as we watch them pose for the campaign in stop motion. One likes frozen blueberries and another collects salt and pepper shakers. It’s former Apollo Theater dancer Jacquie “Tajah” Murdock who steals the show telling Alber and his crew that she always wanted to come to Paris when she was 18 so you could flip those numbers since she was 81 when she came to Paris to shoot the campaign. “Paris is coming to you,” you can hear Alber exclaim before he blows her a big air kiss!
