Hedi Slimane leaked a lookbook for his pre-fall 2013 Saint Laurent collection at Style.com and it’s full of dark and sexy rock ‘n’ roll vibes. The stylized black and white photos feature the singer/model Sky Ferriera rocking the collection with heavy cat eyes and sex kitten pouts. The collection is filled with shiny studded leather, sheer lace and super slim pants all in black with some flashes of bare skin amping up the sex appeal.
Clare Waight Keller’s pre-fall collection for Chloé had elements of French sixties couture and English rock ’n’ roll, her graffiti-dotted silk dresses with mock turtleneck collars and A-line skirts in “confetti” tweed seemed fit for a young Marianne Faithfull. The clean and neat silhouettes were balanced with rich textured fabrics such as double silk crepe, jacquard knits and 3D guipure lace, all done in sherbet colors mixed with navy and white.
Striking a mood between baroque and rock, Donatella Versace named her pre-fall collection “Barock.” She played with the house’s iconic emblems to enrich the daywear-focused lineup, putting strong shoulders in the limelight and keeping pants slim. The clean pieces were embellished with opulent decorations, such as baroque embroideries made with flattened gold thread on denim pants, jackets and tops. Leopard patterns also were prominent and came printed on a velvet tuxedo and mixed with Medusa and other Versace symbols as the season’s new pop print.
