Last September in Milan, Miuccia Prada presented a collection inspired by street artists from the world over, think Jeanne Detallante, Gabriel Specter and El Mac. Prada has employed the talents of photographer Steven Klein for its Spring/Summer 2014 campaign, which sees models including Anna Ewers, Ashleigh Good and Amanda Murphy in a fresco-style scene. In the video, the girls are vibrant in high color, embellished pieces, with gems encrusted on the fabrics and summer furs abound.

For Autumn/Winter 2013-2014 Valentino’s creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli aimed to bring the paintings of Flemish artist Vermeer to life. Inspired by the unsettling beauty of Girl with a Pearl Earring, the graceful and restrained collection is unveiled in a new clip which takes us behind the scenes on the campaign, shot by Inez & Vinoodh.

For the SS2013 Real Fantasies by AMO, Prada experiments a multi-faceted collage of hand-drawn and painted shapes, casting the shadows that they project. Simplicity, poetry and sentimentalism, processed through imaginary cinematic scenes; characters yearning in a world of sophisticated feelings, eluding nostalgia to inspect longing and legacy. Restraining versus revealing: conflicting attitudes in a series of intimate and social situations.

Designer Diane von Furstenberg has teamed up with ROXY to create a limited edition swimwear line called DVF loves ROXY. The collection consists of 35 styles, including swimwear, cover ups and beach bags; all with graphic prints by Diane von Furstenberg. “I am so excited to work with Roxy,” said von Furstenberg. “The collection is playful and fun. We wanted to empower women to go for it and ride the wave!”

Luxury retailer Burberry is taking customer experience to the next level by personalising its made-to-order runway products with embedded technology that tells how the product is made. The Smart Personalisation service was launched to coincide with Burberry’s autumn/winter 2013 show at London Fashion Week. Custom made coats and bags from the collection can be personalised with a bespoke (touchscreen-enabled) nameplate that unlocks technology embedded in the items to unlock a unique video experience. This charts the item’s production including original sketches, runway edits, craftsmanship and personalisation. Having your own customised Burberry made to order for you complete with a bespoke nameplate – true luxury!
